Julia is a successful Barrister and Solicitor practicing in the areas of Family Law, Civil and Estate Litigation, Wills and Estates, and Real Estate.
Julia was born and raised in Transylvania, Romania, where she successfully completed her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Journalism. After moving to Canada, Julia returned to school in 2013, and obtained her Juris Doctor Degree in Law from the University of Alberta. During her studies, Julia obtained numerous scholarships and awards.
She is a current member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Central Alberta Bar Society, the Central Alberta Association of Collaborative Lawyers, and an active, practicing member of the Law Society of Alberta.
Julia has significant experience and has successfully appeared in the Alberta Court of Justice, Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, the Alberta Court of Appeal, and the Federal Court, numerous times, in various locations across the province.
When not working, Julia enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves musical theater, basketball, her puppies, and travelling to the mountains.

TERESA K. LORENZ, B.A., LL.B. | BARRISTER AND SOLICITOR, NOTARY PUBLIC
Teresa is a distinguished lawyer specializing in family law, wills and estates and offering a compassionate and comprehensive approach to clients.
With a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from Concordia University of Alberta (2008) and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta (2011), Teresa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice.
Throughout her career, she has successfully handled a wide range of legal matters, including separation agreements, divorces, family property division, guardianship, parenting and child support matters. She is well-versed in navigating the complexities of the legal system, having represented clients in both the Alberta Court of Justice and the Court of King’s Bench. Her ability to achieve favorable outcomes in various legal proceedings, from chambers appearances to Judicial Dispute Resolutions and Trials, has established Teresa as a trusted advocate for her clients.
As a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Teresa is deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of legal practice. Her dedication to the legal profession is further demonstrated through her active involvement in the Central Alberta Bar Society, where she serves on the executive committee. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Lending Cupboard, a testament to her commitment to community service.
Prior to returning to private practice, Teresa gained valuable experience in the nonprofit sector working as a Staff Lawyer with the Community Legal Clinic and she has continued her work with this organization as a volunteer lawyer. This background has enriched her understanding of the law’s impact on individuals and communities, informing a holistic approach to her legal practice.
Outside the courtroom, Teresa enjoys a balanced life fueled by a passion for cooking, painting, hiking, watching movies, learning history, and exploring new destinations through travel. CREIGHTON M. GARSON, B.A., J.D. | BARRISTER & SOLICITOR, NOTARY PUBLIC
Creighton is a driven and steadfast Barrister and Solicitor with a passion to always learn new things.
He grew up in Sylvan Lake, Alberta and received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Calgary through the collaborative program at what is now Red Deer Polytechnic. Before law school, Creighton worked in Ukraine as an English as a Second Language teacher for two years, based in the City of Vinnytsia. He also served as an electoral observer for the 2019 Ukraine Parliamentary election through CANADEM. After living in Ukraine, he attended the University of Calgary for his law degree. During law school he worked at the United Nations agency the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to help Ukrainian refugees during the ongoing war, providing translation assistance and legal analysis.
Creighton articled in Red Deer, Alberta and is happy to be serving his local community. During his articles, Creighton was exposed to a variety of areas of law. With civil litigation, he worked on and led files involving small claims, employment, landlord-tenant disputes, insurance, collections, and estate litigation. He undertook matters involving wills, probate, and estate management and dealt with family situations involving divorce, child support, spousal support, and adult guardianship.
Since being called to the Bar, Creighton continues to hone his practice in civil litigation and wills and estates. He also utilizes his language skills to help those in need of assistance in immigration to Canada.
Outside of work, he enjoys time with friends and family, travelling, and any opportunity to learn something new.

Akshay Arora | B.A., LLB (HONS) | STUDENT AT LAW
Akshay is a hard working, friendly and passionate student-at-law providing exceptional support to Kensian and Associates! He loves working in a team setting and focusing on problem solving.
Akshay speaks English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi, and he has a passion for Real Estate, Family Law, and Immigration Law.
Work done by Akshay and our team of lawyers at Kensian and Associates are key factors behind our ability to provide successful representation of our clients in all levels of court and outside of it.

KATHRINE GONZALES | STUDENT AT LAW; B.A. and LLB
Our newest team member joining us this year, Kathrine is an articling-law-student eager to make a difference in the lives of our clients through her work at Kensian and Associates!
Through her calm and understanding approach, Kathrine brings a valuable skillset to our team and we are enjoying getting to know her! During her studies, Kathrine was a consistent government scholar, Dean’s list and academic excellence awardee and also a government scholar for her LLB degree.
Before moving to Canada, Kathrine was an experienced lawyer in the Philippines. She brings with her kindness and compassion, her knowledge and understanding of the culture and the language, and her enthusiasm.
Kathrine loves writing and reading in her spare time, with a preference for novels and fiction writing. Kathrine and her family have made Central Alberta home, and she is eager to assist her new clients in numerous areas of law.

ANGELA T. | OFFICE MANAGER
Angela is one of the most familiar faces at Kensian and Associates – we have had the privilege of her support for the past three years! Angela is undoubtedly the lifeblood of our office operations, keeping us running smoothly through a multitude of responsibilities, like accounting, human resources, ordering supplies, scheduling meetings, resolving conflict and maintaining internal communications!
Angela is a professional and meticulous source of stability for the team at Kensian and Associates. She loves having the opportunity to act as a mentor for her colleagues, finding meaning and satisfaction through her network of skilled and compassionate teammates!
When she isn’t holding down the office, Angela spends time with her family and expresses her attention to detail through fiber arts including knitting and crocheting!
SAVANNAH
Savannah is a dedicated legal assistant with a passion for family law, wills and estates. Savannah loves making a difference for our clients, and the direct connection she has with many of them allows her to understand and translate their needs into solutions through a seamless approach.
As a mother and wife, Savannah loves spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and working on arts and crafts!
HANNAH
As a new legal assistant on the Kensian team, Hannah dives into her work with care and compassion. She loves interacting with clients and team members, and finds passion in helping families through difficult situations. “Working in Family Law can be heavy on the heart sometimes, but having a team that will support you and help in any way they can, is a blessing!"
Hannah devotes herself to our clients at Kensian and Associates, but she saves her free time for family and friends!
Michaela
Michaela is an experienced Alberta Registered Paralegal, with a Certified Legal Coach designation. She uses both to provide support to her clients, including assisting self-represented litigants prepare for court. She is passionate about mentoring, and her hope is to continue providing clients with exceptional work products and support in her capacity as a Paralegal. In her off time, she enjoys various creative pursuits such as reading, writing, drawing and Bullet Journaling as well as spending time with her husband and her two cats.
Brooklan
Brooklan, a new Legal Assistant at Kensian & Associates, brings both professionalism and a personal touch to her work. Her passion lies in Real Estate, Family Law and Wills and Estates, where she demonstrates dedication and kindness. Beyond her legal expertise, Brooklan’s bubbly personality shines through her variety of colorful hairstyles. In her spare time, she enjoys bonding with her nephew and family, as well as solving a variety of Rubik’s cubes. When she’s not at work, you’ll find her playing video games with her boyfriend or caring for her four cats.
KIM
Kimberlee, our bright and reliable Administrative Assistant brings a ray of sunshine to clients and coworkers alike! She is sweet, kind, and passionate about law. Proud to be part of a client-focused team, Kimberlee is an invaluable member of our close-knit community, where we prioritize understanding our clients' legal matters.
Outside of work, Kim enjoys quality time with her kids and boyfriend, indulging in baking, reading, and movies, and proudly declares herself a major Taylor Swift fan!
